Borgo di Castelvecchio

To take a group of painters on holiday one needs to find a destination that is beautiful, inspiring and comfortable. Borgo di Castelvecchio is all these things and much more. The welcome we all experienced, the quality of the food and wine and the elegance of our rooms and surroundings made us feel like royalty.

Simon and Alexander treated us like family guests, and by the end of the week Castelvecchio, with its old villas and cypress trees framing the landscape, had worked its magic upon us all. The results were evident in the paintings produced and the friendships made. We very much would like to return soon.

“Frankfort! Well what can I say, without doubt the most comfortable, scenic, gastronomic place I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The house is extremely comfortable, absolutely nothing missing, the gardens are lovely , tended daily, orchids dripping from every tree, the totally private beach, clean as a whistle, [I am told your computer will even work at the water’s edge] the sea a perfect blue, sandy under foot & completely safe, perfect for small children.

The staff were terrific, always on hand, but so discreet that you hardly knew they were there. The chef cooked us wonderful meals, mostly local fish, in lovely sauces,  his repertoire covers whatever your heart desires. A perfect place, to chill out & relax, but lots of local attractions if you want to be out & about. I highly recommend rafting on the Rio Grande.” S.C.

All fab as per usual.... We had, yet again, an amazing holiday at Mas de l'apevoun!  We love that place more and more...

The house was not only beautiful but it was also extremely comfortable.  It was obvious that it was a much loved family home.  We were very well looked after by Gwenaelle, Emmanuelle and the gardener (who picked tomatoes and aubergines from the garden for us) and Sophie, the cook – she was marvellous too.  This was our first visit to Provence and we will have to return – we didn't see and do nearly enough.  The people there and indeed the whole area are really rather special.

Thank you so much, we had the most wonderful holiday, the beach is quite stunning and I love going to sleep with the sound of the crashing waves.

The boys adored the tennis and Johnnie won the club tournament, thereafter we were feted and invited out to drinks and BBQ parties regularly! We fished and caught heaps of big colourful Jacks and even a

Barracuda. The staff, the cook and the maid, were really sweet, nothing was too much trouble, they were very hardworking and so friendly.

Jamie is obviously terribly popular, everyone said flattering things about him so even though we have never met, the mere fact that we were in his house automatically made us feel included by all and sundry.

We adored the house - it was elegant and comfortable and well kitted out.  Sauveterre was everything a French provincial village should be and we particularly enjoyed swimming in the river around the ruined bridge.  It was stunning.

We had a wonderful time and everyone was very appreciative of the house.  It makes such a difference staying in a house that is clearly a home and all so beautifully done.  Many thanks for organising it!

We are having a lovely time – the house is blissy. We are beautifully looked after by Michele and Anna. Everyone is having a lovely time. Today not too hot and we are about to have dinner outside. Thanks for everything.

We are just back from Tangier after a really wonderful holiday.  Thank you so much for sorting it all out for us.  Dar Sinclair is a very special house and Abdul Latif and his team are incredible!  Nothing was too much trouble for them and they looked after us beautifully.  Thank you so much for organising it all.
