The villa is arranged as follows:
- Large drawing room with fireplace
- Large dining room
- Library with fireplace, TV/DVD and stereo equipment
- Intimate Moroccan salon with small fountain
- Large master suite with a kingsize bed, exclusive bathroom and fireplace
- Master suite with a French bed, fireplace, bathroom and separate salon
- Suite with two single beds and a large bathroom
- Second suite with two single beds and a large bathroom
There are two large terraces to the front and rear of the house, the garden terrace can be used as an additional salon and is an ideal place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The roof garden is a shady place for lunch or dinner. Next to it is a high open tent where drinks and coffee are served - a unique experience during sunset.
The Hammam, a traditional Moroccan steam bath, is accessible from one of the master suites and also from the garden. Book an appointment with a masseur who will let you into the secrets of a Moroccan beauty treatment.
A secluded swimming pool offers a wonderful opportunity to relax and sunbathe. However, from December to March it is not warm enough to swim. During the winter months the villa is heated.
You can enjoy the view of the snow on the nearby Atlas mountains and may even find yourself skiing in Oukaimeden!
A super team of full-time staff are at your disposal. They live in separate quarters behind the villa and consist of:
- A Majordomo
- Cook
- Two housemaids
- Laundress
- Gateman
- Handyman and gardeners working outside (garden, pool and terraces)
The Majordomo is French speaking and will be happy to be of assistance during your stay at Bled Targui.
The cook is well trained in preparing both Moroccan and western style dishes and will be glad to receive your personal suggestions. (It is advisable to inform the cook of your requirements at least one day in advance.)
The laundress is responsible for all household linen. She will also be happy to take care of personal laundry. Dry cleaning is not advisable and no difficult material should be laundered or ironed as the villa cannot guarantee results.
During the day a minibus with a driver is at your disposal. The driver does not belong to the household, but this service is included within the rental payment. Please inform the Majordomo in good time when the driver’s service is required. Should you plan a night excursion or overnight trips (eg. into the Sahara), he will be pleased to advise you and offer you a fair price.
Rates include, for up to a maximum of 8 people, full staff and a car driven by the Majordomo. Food and drinks are payable locally.
Local Area
Just three and a half hours flight from the UK, Marrakech is another world; a marvel of sights and sounds with its minarets, honeycombed alleys and labyrinthine souks, Marrakech captures the imagination like no other city.
A day spent exploring its exquisite architecture and history, or meandering through the medina, the smell of spices in the air, brightly coloured carpets hanging from roofs, plunging into the hurly burly maelstrom of passages where tradesmen ply various crafts, from cloth dying, copper beating, and leather working to herbalists, perfumers and slipper makers, is a day you will never forget!
As dusk falls, sip sweet mint tea at one of the rooftop cafes in the Place Djemaa el Fna and watch the snake charmers and performers appear on the square; as the cacophony grows around you; it really is the most exhilarating experience!
With the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains as a backdrop, and framed by the red desert, Marrakech is a city that time seems to have forgotten.
Local Services
There are three 18 hole golf courses approx 20 minutes drive from the villa. The dry, Mediterranean climate is perfect for golfing throughout the year:-
- Royal Golf de Marrakech – the oldest and easiest course, built in 1923.
- Golf D’Amelkis – opened in 1995, international quality, American style difficult course.
- Palmeraie Golf – built in 1990 by Trent Jones.
- Tennis – available at nearby club by arrangement.
