Local Services
Tour of the plantation – take a journey around the plantation and get a feel for its history.
- Duns River Falls is by far the area's most popular attraction. Its 600-foot waterfall presents a striking centerpiece for the mountain-like setting. Visitors can hike to the top of the falls with an experienced guide for a modest price, or they can just opt for a picnic at its base and allow the cool mist to give them welcome relief from the heat. Expect lots of people there but it is pretty too.

- Swimming with Dolphins – Next to Dunns River Falls. Swim with Dolphins, Swim with the Sharks, Interact with Stingrays (Barbs removed), Captain you own Mini-Boat or go Glass Bottom Kayaking on the Caribbean Ocean, enjoy a splash in the turquoise ocean or relax on the pearl white beach.
- Canopy Tour - Less than a half an hour from "Ochi" is the Cranbrook Flowering Tree Sanctuary. This ORIGINAL CANOPY TOUR experience is a series of 9 traverses over a unique geological feature caused by the erosion of a mountain by an artesian river which created a beautiful and biologically rich valley over the last 2 million years that has evolved into a unique environment. During this tour you will travel almost 3/4 of a mile sometimes as high as 330 feet above the ground!
- Firefly - The cottage on the cliff above Port Maria, 20 miles (32km) east of Ocho Rios, Firefly was the holiday retreat of famed British playwright and composer, Sir Noel Coward. The house is now a national monument and has been preserved as Coward left it, complete with two grand pianos on which he composed some famous tunes. Coward is buried in the garden under a simple marble gravestone.
- Bob Marley Mausoleum - Reggae music fans from the world over make the pilgrimage to the famed singer/songwriter's grave site at the village of Nine Mile, about 40 miles (65km) south of Ocho Rios. Marley lived in the Nine Mile hamlet between the age of six and 13. The two-room shack in which he lived is open to view, filled with memorabilia, and alongside it is the mausoleum in which Marley and his half-brother are buried. The site also has a vegetarian restaurant and small shop. Reggae concerts are held at Nine Mile each year on 6 February, Marley's birthday.
- Golf Day – there are many courses on Jamaica near the Plantation and also further away.
- Diving – the diving isn’t that great around Ocho Rios but if anyone wants to get their Padi qualification it’s a good place to do it as the instructors will come to you at Frankfort and you can dive off the beach.
- Dinner out at Toscanini (Italian) Restaurant, Harmony Hall - the best place in the area. Run by an Italian lady.
