Set in the beautiful Borgo di Castelvecchio - a private estate in Southern Tuscany in the Val d’Orcia and surrounded by a large Italian garden, Canonica was originally the Priest’s House in the Borgo. 

It is an impressive ancient two storey stone house with a covered terrace with breathtaking panoramic views of Monte Amiata, the stunning green Sienese valleys and clay gullies stretching as far as S. Quirico d’Orcia, Castiglion d’Orcia and the spires of Pienza.

Property Detail

Canonica’s soft, warm and simple antique furnishings and its stunning covered balcony creates an atmosphere where you can relax, reflect and forget the stresses of everyday life.

The house is available weekly from Saturday afternoon (2 p.m.) to Saturday morning (9 a.m.) all year.

  • Arrivals after 8 p.m. are not accepted.
  • Small dogs accepted, 10 Euro per day.

Ground floor:

  • Superb entrance hall, cloak room with shower room.
  • Spacious sitting/dining room with doors to the stunning outside veranda.
  • Kitchen connected to the dining room.
  • Stairs leading to first floor.

First floor:

  • Spacious sitting room with a fireplace and TV.
  • Two double rooms with en suite shower rooms.
  • One suite with one double room and one single room with shower room.
  • One twin room in the loft.

Facilities & Services

  • Kitchen with cooker and oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, iron, hair-drier, wash machine.
    Television. Videotape (on request).
  • 2 hours domestic help weekly. Gardening, waste removing. Linen change once a week (Saturday).
