The Tallet is a large cottage situated over a hay store reached by an external staircase above the animals.

This cottage, sleeps eight in two double and two twin or double bedrooms (arranged as you wish), with three bathrooms. The huge living space surrounding a courtyard designed by Bunny Guinness, gives wonderful entertaining space with the outside courtyard acting as an extension of the living space. The kitchen, designed by the award winning Simon Bray, has been placed in the corner acting as pivotal space between the dining and sitting areas, perfect for relaxed, modern family living and entertaining. The curved bar which separates the kitchen from the living area allows the cook to be part of the party with a wine cooler and bar area too. Alternatively, for a special occasion, we can arrange one of our chefs to cater for you.

Property Detail

The luxury cottages at Southrop Manor Estate are situated around a courtyard at the front of an award winning barn restoration project.  Each building has been renovated with great attention to detail and to an extremely high standard of finish using traditional local materials and skilled local craftsmen. Grand and slightly quirky - a stay at the cottages will provide a real country experience.
The River Leach runs through this angelic Cotswold village. With its crystal clear waters, wild brown trout and stunning water meadows, the river offers the chance to see swans, kingfishers or maybe the occasional water vole.


A short stroll up the village street with its old raised pavements leads to the village pub, the much recommended Swan at Southrop, where you can have a simple lunch or a full three course dinner from their à la carte menu.   All the cottages are named after their working heritage and are decorated using the same principles, a modern take on the traditional English Country House, using an eclectic mix of English and French antique furniture and paintings with a particular emphasis on Cotswold artists.
